What is the production process of china galvanized steel?

Publish Time: 2025-03-06
Galvanized steel, as an important steel category, plays an indispensable role in many fields such as construction, automobiles, home appliances, and transportation due to its excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. As a major steel producer in the world, China's production process of galvanized steel has undergone years of development and improvement, forming a set of efficient and environmentally friendly production systems.

The production of galvanized steel begins with the careful selection of raw materials. High-quality carbon steel or alloy steel is used as the base material, and it undergoes strict inspection to ensure that its chemical composition, mechanical properties and surface quality meet production requirements. These steels usually exist in the form of coils, which is convenient for subsequent continuous processing.

After entering the production line, the steel first goes through the uncoiling and welding links. The uncoiling machine unwinds the coil, and the head and tail of the front and rear coils of steel are seamlessly connected through welding equipment to ensure the continuous and stable operation of the production line. This step not only improves production efficiency, but also reduces material waste caused by stopping the machine for coiling.

Subsequently, the steel enters the degreasing and cleaning stage. The purpose of degreasing is to remove grease, rust and other impurities on the surface of steel to ensure a good combination of the galvanized layer and the steel substrate. This link usually includes multiple steps such as spraying, brushing, and electrolytic cleaning. Through the dual effects of chemistry and physics, the deep cleaning of the steel surface is achieved.

Next is annealing. Annealing can eliminate the internal stress generated by the steel during the rolling process, improve its structure and performance, and create favorable conditions for subsequent galvanizing. The temperature and time in the annealing furnace are precisely controlled to ensure that the steel is evenly heated within the appropriate temperature range to achieve recrystallization annealing.

After annealing, the steel enters the galvanizing link. In the galvanizing equipment, the molten zinc liquid contacts the surface of the steel, a metallurgical reaction occurs, and a firm galvanized layer is formed. By controlling the galvanizing time and the temperature of the zinc liquid, the thickness and performance of the galvanized layer can be adjusted. Modern galvanizing processes also use air knife technology to precisely control the thickness and uniformity of the galvanized layer by blowing gas onto the surface of the strip.

After galvanizing, the steel needs to be alloyed to improve the hardness and corrosion resistance of the galvanized layer. Alloying is to react the zinc layer with the steel matrix at a certain temperature to form a zinc-iron alloy coating. This step is crucial to improving the comprehensive performance of galvanized steel.

After the alloying treatment, the steel needs to be leveled, straightened, passivated and other subsequent treatments to improve its surface quality and corrosion resistance. Finally, according to customer needs, the steel can be trimmed, oiled and other treatments to meet the needs of different application areas.

The production process of China Galvanized Steel has set an example for the global steel industry with its high efficiency, environmental protection and precise control. With the continuous advancement of science and technology and the increasing requirements for environmental protection, the production process of China Galvanized Steel will continue to be optimized and innovated to contribute to the sustainable development of the steel industry.
